The Apple Watch Series 11 Evaluation: Excellent Gesture Control featuring Improved Power Endurance

The most recent smartwatch Series Eleven delivers the one thing the majority really need from a smartwatch: longer battery life.

In other aspects, the new model serves as a direct replacement from the previous model, matching it in design, dimensions and capabilities, with most of enhancements originating from the operating system.

The latest version is also £30 cheaper in the UK, priced starting at 369 pounds (€449/399 dollars/A$679), placed higher than the newly revamped £219 Watch SE for entry-level buyers and the premium Ultra 3 at £749 at the high end.

Build and Interface

Like last year's Series 10, the new model comes in at 9.7 millimeters in thickness, creating a slim fit on your arm, easy to sneak below clothing and easier to wear at night.

This 2,000-nit interface offers excellent visibility for reading indoors and out, maintaining readability when viewed from different angles, which makes glancing down at the time or alerts easy.

The surface features with glass reportedly significantly more durable than earlier versions, though not quite as tough of sapphire crystal, which is reserved with the higher-end titanium models.

Power and Endurance

The new watch features the same S10 chip as last year's model with new capability for cellular 5G capability and stronger reception when you're exploring remote areas.

Energy storage have increased in storage significantly in the 42 millimeter and 46 millimeter models correspondingly.

Larger model lasted a good 48 hours during evaluation with sleep tracking when not used for fitness.

Most people can nearly record two full days with overnight use until recharge becomes necessary, requiring about 66 minutes with a 20-watt or greater power adaptor (available separately), achieving around 70 percent in half an hour.

Should you go out for a run, battery endurance reaches around 8 hours for monitoring, adequate time to complete marathons or extended activities.

The standout addition is the wrist-flick gesture, involving quick rotation your hand backward and reversing to dismiss things and go back to the main interface.

The feature operates without looking at the device to view the screen, enabling wearers to stop notifications through simple motion with your hand.

Blood pressure notifications look for signs of hypertension through extended monitoring, notifying you to get yourself checked out when pulse information indicates potential undetected issues.

The new sleep score metric enhances rest analysis easier to interpret, like other brands from Google, Samsung and others.

Each morning the device displays a score out of 100 that is broken down in three sections: sleep length, timing and disturbances, which are all easy to understand and accessible through the wellness application through your mobile also.
